Practices to cultivate self-understanding.
Creative Wellbeing Workshops invite you to explore the space where presence and creative expression become a path to deeper self-awareness.
With a foundation in East Asian Calligraphy, we use mark-making as a mirror of our state of mind - each stroke revealing something of our internal landscape.
They offer us an insight into the tensions, beliefs and blocks we hold within, as well as a gentle practice to help process them.
Current Creative Wellbeing Workshops…
Ensō Drawing for Emotional Processing
A guided practice to deeper awareness of where obstacles emerge for you, and how to cultivate a more compassionate movement around them.
The Ensō Drawing workshop invites you to contemplate the whole cycle of experience and detach from judgements about where you find yourself within it.
Map Making for Inner Direction
A imaginative exploration of your goals and challenges.
We use personal narratives and values to create a ‘map’ to help you uncover an inner direction and greater sense of trust to move forwards with it.
Rhythmic Mark Making for Comfort
A stimming inspired mark making and movement practice where large scale, automatic drawing connects you to the space and body you exist in and offers a greater sense of safety in it.
Movements offers comfort by playfully self-regulating emotions, managing sensory input, focusing and express feeling.
Creative Wellbeing Workshops
As a Person-Centered Therapist, Mimi understands how to support individuals to encounter themselves more fully, and she facilitates in such a way that emotions, thoughts and uncertainties can be explored with curiosity rather than resistance.
The mark-making practices in our workshops offer the creative act as a way to ‘be-with’ ourselves, as a stroke of ink unfolds and expresses what is within. Rather than being a practice of mastering a technique or producing a perfect brushstroke, they are an invitation to be present with what arises; to explore the edges of ambiguity and uncertainty, and to notice the ways in which we resist or flow in response to it.
