About Honne

Founded by Mimi Robson, an artist and therapist, Honne offers a therapeutic experience that is both gentle and insightful, to support emotional wellbeing through a process that feels human, intuitive, and deeply attuned.

My work emerges from a creative foundation of years spent in artistic practice. This background informs a therapeutic style that is perceptive and nuanced, grounded in emotional presence and a high sensitivity to subtleties in expression, implicit meaning and layered dynamics.

My sessions are a reflective space where you can safely explore the beliefs, pressures and emotional patterns that shape your life. I specialise in supporting artists, designers, makers, creative professionals and emotionally intuitive individuals navigating identity, self-esteem, burnout, and life transitions.

About Mimi

Before becoming a Counsellor, I spent many years as an artist, exploring how people see and express themselves. Creativity was, and still is, a way for me to deepen my self-awareness and stay connected to my own experiences. I now bring this same curiosity and insight into my therapy sessions, blending the creative process with a deep understanding of the human psyche, the power of therapeutic listening and psychological healing.

I have always been drawn to the depth of human experience—the ways we make sense of ourselves, the ways we struggle, and the ways we grow. My interest in psychology began as a curiosity about how we experience ourselves and our emotions, but over time, it deepened into an appreciation of honesty, deep listening, and the kind of connection that allows someone to feel truly understood.

My counselling approach is shaped by my artistic and introspective nature, my study of Zen philosophy, and a deep respect for the experience of simply being—being with whatever arises, without resistance or judgment. Therapy, to me, is not about ‘fixing’ you, but about creating space to meet yourself with honesty and care—to ask questions, to face discomfort, and to take steps toward self-trust. Because I believe that self-trust is the foundation of a free and creative life.

My role as a therapist is to offer a space where this process can unfold—to be with you, with acceptance, so that you can learn to be with yourself in the same way. I know, on a personal level, what it feels like to struggle with self-doubt, to feel misunderstood, and to long for relief from the fear that keeps your full self hidden. This understanding allows me to meet you with real tenderness and respect.

My aproach is gentle, warm, and accepting. You will be met with curiosity rather than judgment, honesty rather than pretence, and the freedom to come exactly as you are.

In my own life, I continue to express my inner world through art, and I draw inspiration from nature, especially the shifting landscapes of Cornwall. I also practice Zen meditation and study Buddhist philosophy, which helps me cultivate the presence and resilience needed to hold a safe, compassionate space for you, even in life’s most difficult moments.

My approach

GENTLE

I offer a warm, grounded space where individuals feel deeply heard and understood. My work moves at the pace of the client in a responsive and collaborative way.

FOCUSED SUPPORT

Drawing on both person-centred counselling and my artistic eye, I bring a finely-tuned sensitivity to others’ emotional undercurrents to help uncover patterns, clarify internal conflicts, and build greater self-awareness.

CREATIVITY AS A LENS FOR UNDERSTANDING

Creatives often navigate the complex inner tensions of identity, expression, direction and expectation. I work with people who “feel deeply,” who are sensitive, imaginative, or caught between possibilities. Therapy becomes a space where they can reconnect with inner clarity and confidence.

Honne Therapy is a counselling practice rooted in creativity, sensitivity, and emotional depth.

We support creative people navigating identity tensions, low self-esteem, burnout, and life transitions.
